the kitchen

After seeing this idea I decided to make a play kitchen (or in her words a "teeny kitchen") for Lydda Grace.
Way back before we moved I stumbled upon a nightstand for $5 at a yard sale that was just right for the base. With some scrap lumber from Home Depot ($3), stainless dog bowl from Goodwill ($2), sawing help and drill usage from friends (free), paint ($7), fabric ($4), and various odd hinges, wooden knobs, and other accessories (about $6) we ended up with this sweet kitchen that Lydda Grace loves! It was so fun to see her reaction when we gave it to her (kind of stunned and shy... and then she dove right into playing with it). We're hoping she and Wade will get lots of fun from it, not to mention how much fun Jon and I had making it!
Nightstand minus the drawer and the back.Sink has been cut, back and shelf added. Painted (the main color was leftover house paint and inside the oven is black).

Ready and waiting on our family Christmas morning
